Anstice Communications (Anstice), is delighted to announce the recent hire of its new Art Director, Leo Perez.Leo brings a tropical touch to Anstice, being from Venezuela herself. She’s been working within the creative industry for more than five years, starting when she received her Bachelor of Visual Communications from ACAD. She worked for three years as an Art Director at Karo Group, having the opportunity to work with clients such as Calgary Stampede, Banff Lake Louise Tourism, Enmax Energy, ABCRC, Heritage Park, among others. Leo then left Karo to pursue her passion and give freelance a try; she has been doing freelance ever since and is excited to join the Anstice team!As Art Director, Leo will combine strategic execution with creative flair to fully capture each clients’ brand. Welcome, Leo!Q&A with Leo:What is your favourite part about working on the creative side of communication?The people. Being on the creative side, I find the need to be constantly inspired and find inspiration mostly from the people that I’ve met within this industry. I’m inspired by their reactions, opinions, styles and stories. Now that design is digitizing with time, I think it is important to give a human touch to everything we create. We heard you just had a baby! What is your favourite thing about being a mother so far?My mornings, he has turned me into an early bird. Every day when he wakes up, we just cuddle and cuddle while I have my coffee. It feels like heaven!What is your favourite social media platform?I’m between Instagram and Pinterest. I love Instagram because it keeps me in touch with my friends and family, but I can also spend hours submerged in Pinterest; looking specifically through the home decor boards - I’m kind of obsessed with it! What is your favourite typeface and why?Bodoni. I love its chubby curve but slim serifs. Every time I use it, I feel like it smiles at me. Seems like you love to bake, what is your favourite thing to make in the kitchen?My red velvet cake! It’s the perfect balance between sweet and savoury. Plus, I love decorating it! I’ll make an Anstice (pink velvet cake) so you know what I’m talking about!Now, the most important question you will ever be asked -  Ryan Gosling or Ryan Reynolds?I wish I had a more creative answer, but GOSLING all the way!
